4. SUCCESS STORY: ROAD TO RECOVERY

We hosted a small gathering for everyone who comes to the center, the goal for this was to show everyone that they are not alone. And there are plenty of ways to have fun without using drugs or alcohol.  The event was organised by our staff members and they did such an amazing job.    Whether you or someone you know is on the road to recovery or drugs, alcohol, abuse, or anger, you are never alone. We feel like one of the most important ways to help any recovery is having a great support system of people to help you through the journey. One of our favorite ways to cope with something or learn new ways to process emotion is by making a “game” or activity out of that situation. Assignment 2: a. Outline the various challenges you encountered with regard to acquiring an online presence

Creating a blog is not an easy task, especially when some sites refresh themselves or have random pop ups while you are setting up the site. The aim problem was establishing the style of look for my blog as there are many layouts to choose from. I wanted a user friendly and clear look for my blog. I struggled to link everything together because on blogger the icons don’t appear and when you post something it takes a while for it to show unless you refresh the page. I had a few issues with creating a twitter account because it kept on making take that ‘’Are you a robot quiz’’ then would make me recreate an account again. Facebook and Instagram were much better. YouTube is user friendly. With all the socials I created I used the same logo and bio, to make each an everything look the same and making easy to create brand visibility.

We can only do or say so much, without the backing of the community certain things will not work out.  The good part is those kids have major resilience, and they know that, despite the feedback, they did something positive. The lesson for them was that when you stand up for something, not everybody is going to like it and you won't always have 100% support from the community either. Those youth made real change...
