HIV AND AIDS POLICY


 

  • Our organization will not and does not discriminate against colleagues or applicants having, perceived as having, living with or otherwise affected by HIV or AIDS.
  • We treat HIV/AIDS the same as other illnesses in terms of all of our employee policies and benefits, including health and life insurance, disability benefits and leaves of absence.
  • In accordance with applicable laws, we provide reasonable work accommodations when needed for qualified individuals.
  • All colleagues must adhere to our non-discrimination policy. Colleagues who refuse to work with, withhold services from, harass or otherwise discriminate against another colleague because of his/her having HIV/AIDS, being perceived as having, living with HIV/AIDS, or being otherwise affected by HIV/AIDS, will be subject to discipline and/or other corrective actions.
  • We encourage routine, confidential, voluntary testing and counseling as part of its education and awareness programs.
  • HIV and AIDS are treated confidentially as medical conditions, in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • We do not require colleagues, their dependents, job applicants or other third parties to undergo HIV testing as a condition of employment or receipt of benefits.

We hosted a small gathering for everyone who comes to the center, the goal for this was to show everyone that they are not alone. PRESS RELEASE: YOUTH OUTREACH CAMPAIGN

  1 Roman Way, Cape Town, 06 August 2022, Our annual campaign aimed at the youth begins early this year.  The campaigns provide information about the prevalence and dangers of fentanyl, the risks and consequences of mixing drugs, the life-saving power of naloxone, and the importance of reducing stigma around drug use to support treatment and recovery.   '' This is all aimed  directly with young adults who reported using drugs, as well as peer recovery professionals, to develop the campaigns.
